The Peace Supper which was postponed from Thursday 3 September will now take place on Monday 12 October 2015.
Bring food to share, meal starts 6 for 6.30pm. Talk by Roger Bromley, emeritus Professor of Cultural Studies at the University of Nottingham, starts at 8pm. He will speculate upon peace as a “narrative”. His title will be “War is What Happens when Language Fails: Storying Peace through Cultural Action.” He says he will look briefly at examples from theatre , film and fiction in which conflict and reconciliation are explored, with examples from Rwanda and the Balkans among others. All welcome.
