Our Values

'...We have found corporately that the Spirit, if rightly followed, will lead us into truth, unity and love: all our testimonies grow from this leading....' (Quaker Faith & Practice 1.01)

Our Testimonies of Truth & Integrity; Equality & Community; Simplicity; Peace; and Sustainability guide everything we do.

We have no fixed creed or set of dogmas. Instead, we believe that the search for truth is an ongoing journey—one that continually reveals new insights and deepens our understanding. While we don't have "rules," our history has led us to a shared set of guiding principles. We call these our Testimonies.

Today, our lives are guided by these core values:

  • Truth & Integrity: Being honest with ourselves and others, ensuring our outward actions always reflect our inward convictions.
  • Equality & Community: Recognising "that of God" in everyone and working to dismantle the barriers that divide us.
  • Simplicity: Focusing on what truly matters and resisting the pressures of a consumer-driven world.
  • Peace: Seeking non-violent solutions to conflict and working to remove the "seeds of war" from our hearts and society.
  • Sustainability: Living with reverence for the Earth and acting urgently to protect our planet for future generations.

These values are not just ideals; they are a call to action. We strive to live by them every day to build a fairer, more peaceful, and sustainable world. It isn't always easy, but as a community, we support and encourage one another to keep trying.
